The trend of toys revealing the latest DC Comics movie villain continues! It’s how we got our first look at Ares for Wonder Woman, and now an upcoming LEGO set gives us our first look at Steppenwolf for Justice League.
Rubies, a company that sells officially licensed DC Comics costumes, uploaded the image to tease that their Justice League costumes are coming soon. The image also promotes a new Justice League website, JoinTheLeague.com.
The Hollywood Reporter caught up with Superman’s mom, Diane Lane, at a women’s filmmaker luncheon industry event and asked about Justice League and Batman v Superman’s “Martha” twist.
“I found that the scene I did, which is a big opening scene, was pretty dark in its tone. But in a good way. It wasn’t comic booky, but I think you can thread a certain amount of humor through it, which maybe the previous one was lacking,” McElhatton said.
The new poster was just released by Zack Snyder on Twitter, and puts Batman front and center with the rest of the Justice League. Who are they looking at? Steppenwolf? Or perhaps it’s the return of Superman.
Last November it was reported that Game of Thrones star Ciaran Hinds would play Steppenwolf in Justice League, but there hasn’t been any official confirmation… until now!
“J.K Simmons doesn’t need any advice from me,” Oldman said. “He’s a wonderful actor. I’m intrigued to see what he does with it. I’m looking forward to it. Gordon was very good to me so I wish him a lot of luck. I’m excited for him.”
CinemaCon wrapped up earlier this week, and director Zack Snyder and the cast of Justice League (minus Gal Gadot) were there to show off some new footage. Jared Leto was there to promote his upcoming movie Blade Runner 2049, and the Joker actor caught up with Snyder backstage for a photo.
There’s no way they’d have a finished cut of the movie and know the runtime this far out.
