How does Peter Parker differ this time from his previous two incarnations?
You’ve seen the billionaire, the scientist, the soldier. Now it’s time to see the kid. And every decision we make on set is based off how would a kid react in this situation, so every fight scene we have is designed in a way that’s almost child-friendly, so he never actually punches anyone. It’s all done kind of by accident. I think the biggest difference is his youth and innocence.
I actually really like the sound of that, because that gives the character a lot of room for evolution throughout these next few years. In a similar fashion of Harry Potter, the tone and everything started off very child friendly and by the end it got very dark and much more adult as the actors grew up. Now I don’t think this will be as drastic as that, but I’m actually excited to hear this is the starting point they’re going with for this version of Spider-Man, I think it’s perfect.
Honestly really disappointed to hear this. One of my biggest nitpicks of the Amazing Spider-Man films is that he only threw about 5 punches across two films and mostly bounced around the whole time. Guess I can stop my expectations of seeing something like the train fight in Spider-Man 2 in this..
Hmmm I really like his take on the character but this doesn’t sound like it’s for me. I’ll wait until I see the trailer and that but I’m not going to sit through another two hour, two and a half hour Spider-Man movie where he pines for girls and gets teenage angst over everything. We’ll see but so far his comments are putting me off. I’m sure the film will be successful either way as Spider-Man has to be the most popular or second most popular superhero in the world.
Great! Child like.. How about hitting villians with plushy toys like teddy bears? Then, in the final scene, let’s have an explosion of soft lollipops and confetti. In terms of language, make sure you don’t hurt the Vultures feelings by calling him baldy. Spidey may use his inside voice by giving him positive reinforcement. No punching and vulgar language.
