In an interview with Variety, current head of Lucasfilm Kathleen Kennedy said the studio is looking for a female filmmaker to direct a Star Wars movie. Great! She then implied that the process is a slow one because “they’re gigantic films, and you can’t come into them with essentially no experience.” Okay.

No it’s not. This statement, “friend”, is what EQUALITY and MERITOCRACY is all about. You hire the best person for the job. END of fucking story. It matters not whether this person is a man or a woman, so you saying it’s “great” that they are looking for female directors is already anti-egalitarian and inherently sexist. The ONLY thing that matters is that they pick talent. Arbitrary characteristics like race or gender should never be a factor, only moronic bigots pretend otherwise.

You know what? I’m getting pretty goddamn tired of people not being able to say something or have an opinion without someone pointing it out, writing an article about it, or posting, commenting, or whatever about it.
