In the first television-related fallout from the Oct. 1 massacre of 58 people in Las Vegas, Netflix has postponed a special premiere and rollout of “Marvel’s The Punisher,” its sixth series from Marvel, and potentially among its most violent.
Netflix on Thursday also pulled out of a pre-scheduled panel session at New York Comic Con, which began Thursday. Along with the Comic Con panel, the streaming service had planned a special surprise launch of the series in October, according to some fan sites, rumored to be as early as Saturday.

It’s a mark of respect, companies have been doing that for quite some time.

For a business to do that, for reputation purposes and what-not, it isn’t a sign of weakness, it’s a sign of respect to such a given tragedy. A sign of weakness would be like, being impatient for just a tv show to come on and feeling slightly agitated about it.

For the company’s own integrity. Other studios and such respect when a company does such a thing. It’s a business thing.

No it’s not. Product placement? Sure… But those companies aren’t forcing Zack or Gal to say it “makes the movie better”. That’s what I take issue with, not the deals themselves. As you said, that’s just good business.

What are you trying to say? I’m not seeing a connection between what you’re saying in that statement and your issue with its delay.
All I’m trying to say is Netflix delaying the Punisher is just a sign of respect from the tragic event that had occurred. What they can achieve from that is simply brownie points, and the respect of the people. Some businesses in the wake of certain issues and/or events that occur sometimes do such things for reputation purposes or its own integrity.
