Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has been in limbo since director James Gunn was fired last month. Chris Pratt and his castmates have called for but are not requiring Disney to reinstate him. Nothing has changed since they issued an open letter supporting Gunn and the cloud of uncertainty hanging over the franchise is difficult to endure.
“It’s not an easy time,” Pratt told the Associated Press on Tuesday. “We all love James and he’s a good friend of ours, but we also really love playing the Guardians of the Galaxy. It’s a complicated situation for everybody. And you know, we just want to move forward and do what’s right and be the best people we can be.”

The things he posted on Twitter crossed the line of being jokes by miles. They were disgusting, vile remarks. The consequences of his actions finally caught up with him.

Yea I still hold out hope they’ll rehire him, if for no other reason they’re contractually obligated to last I heard.
I’m conflicted I don’t think the stuff he said was ok, but I don’t think they should have fired him for it.

Then you don’t believe our actions have consequences.

Please don’t try to tell me what I believe.
depends on the actions, as bad as the stuff he tweeted was I still don’t think he should be fired for it.
If he would have maintained the same dialogue, and came off unapologetic, then yea I could see why firing him would make more sense to me. What Disney did was fold under the fear of bad PR. I doubt they didn’t know about these tweets when they hired him.
I will say Disney has every right to fire him, my point is it’s stupid of them to do so. His firing gives out the perception that once someone does or says something they’re just a bad person and no matter what changes they go through it won’t matter he’s damned to forever be a weirdo with a grotesque “sense of humor” over tweeting.

I think you’re making it way more complicated then it is. You can’t write or say whatever you want in society without there being some kind of repercussions. Doesn’t matter whether he’s “changed” or not. It’s no different than people who commit crimes unknowingly to the public and then are discovered or exposed years later. Have they change or become different or maybe they’re a totally different person than they were 20 years earlier or whatever, but the no action goes unanswered. And I think it was really good actually in his case that he was fired. Helps people hopefully see that no matter how great a director Gunn is or how favored he is, he’s not above correction (as none of us are). Whether you believe what Disney did or not, hopefully you can see that you can’t just do or say whatever you want and expect no one not to notice.

That’s a bit of a stretch comparing Gunn making an ass of him self online to someone committing a criminal act isn’t really a fair comparison or partly because crime can range from something small up to murder.
It seems like what you’re saying is even if a person corrects themselves and regardless how much time goes by with said person not engaging in whatever they’ve changed about them selves on their own. Society still has to shame them for being that person whenever or however long ago that was?
That’s something that I think is a bit more of an issue our society as a whole falls into the once a “something” always a “something ” mindset.
