It’s been less than a week since The Avengers: Age of Ultron opened in theaters and Marvel is already revving the engine on its next big superhero team-up. The studio announced today that principal photography has begun on Captain America: Civil War while detailing the main cast for the movie, and I’m just going to say it: things are starting to feel a little unwieldy. Obviously, Chris Evans’ Captain America is starring in the film, but according to Marvel’s announcement no less than seven other existing Avengers will also be showing up:
Captain America 3 is going to be bigger than The Avengers, and that might be a problem

This can’t really be a surprise to anyone. It’s Civil War. We will see a majority of the main avengers (including Spidey) show up in this movie. It significantly takes away from that spectacle for Inifinity Wars. This was my major issue with AOU. Villain wasn’t center stage (also a worry of mine for Thanos as they screwed Ultron), and they couldn’t seem to capture the same “magic” from the first film when it came to seeing them all on screen together.

Everyone knew going in that AoU wasn’t going to be as “big” as the first Avengers film. But it was in no way a “bad” film or a screwed up. While not a perfect slam dunk, it wasn’t a failure either. Jeez

Please….. it was definitely hyped up to be even better than the first Avengers which made everyone’s expectations become so high only to feel disappointed when they exited the theaters.
Why did you think fanboys lost their shit when RT scores slid lower and lower until it reached the 70s? Right now they are shouting that RT scores don’t matter as long as audiences liked it – which is a sound advice….but that goes out of the window when they ridicule Man of Steel’s 55%(orsomewherearoundthat) even though the audience rating is in the 70s.-
AOU was certainly one of the weaker Marvel movies to date. That can’t be argued. When I left the theatre after Cap 2, I felt amazed and that I had gotten my money’s worth. Leaving the theatre after AOU I felt disappointed in what I received knowing it could’ve been so much better. The hype built it up to be something it wasn’t.

Oh don’t get me wrong. I enjoyed the movie for what it is. It’s just too bad that Ultron wasn’t used to his full potential. We’ll have to agree to disagree as far as expectations for the movie though. I just thought that with more characters and one of the baddest villains there is, that it could’ve been better than the first. Civil War should blow AOU out of the water though.
