It does make more sense for Ant-Man to be on Cap’s side… but in the process, they butchered all the character development of his first solo movie. He spent that entire film trying to do the right thing for once so he could stop running from the law. He succeeds in the end, so what does he do? Break the law AGAIN, and become a fugitive AGAIN. I really dislike repeated plot points. What’s the point?

Agreed. His arc put him in line with Tony more than his general personality put him in line with Cap. Ant-man’s solo movie was about him wanting to be a good dad…then the next time we see him he breaks international law, and gets put in a highsecurity raft prison? So…he’s not ‘there’ for his daughter anymore, and they spent zero time explaining why he would risk everything to help Cap. Not even a throw away line. It wouldve been more interesting for his character, imo, if he sided with Tony. Spidey had his – that Tony told him Cap is wrong but thinks he’s right and thats makes him dangerous. Woulda been cool if he said that to Ant-man instead of to Cap, and then Ant-man replies with a quick line about what Cap (or even Hawkeye) said to him to get him on board.

Huh?
He spent the whole movie trying to steal things and ended the movie as a fugitive. What he wanted most was to make his daughter proud, what better way then to save captain friggin America and he was already a fugitive anyway. Makes perfect sense to me.
