Marvel Studios can count on a massive opening weekend for Avengers: Endgame. Domestic box office tracking has the film earning $200M to $250M in its first three days. Of course, the film may very well exceed those lofty estimates.

I’m expecting this movie to pass 2.5 billion worldwide. I for one, will be there opening night in a sold out theater (Cinebistro! Yay for adults only!).I haven’t been this excited for a movie since The Dark Knight Rises.

For me nothing will match the excitement of the first Avengers movie. That was something I waited for since I was a small boy. I expect Endgame to be amazing but I am not sure they can top the first one for me.
Of course if they really embrace the comic book nature of the movie then maybe. Sadly it seems that these days DC has got that down pat and Marvel is moving away from it a bit. I want those big moments the ‘I am ____’ moments that are such a part of the comics. The ending of Aquaman is how comic book movies should end.
And while I have always know that those moments really get to me I realized with Aquaman that they do the same to others. When he came out of the sea and said ‘I am Aquaman’ my wife was like ‘Hell yeah!’. She was not much of a comic book person when I met her but she has learned well.

I think what we are going to see is the physical limit on opening weekends. There are only so many seats that can be filled and this movie is going to fill every single one.
