The news just keeps getting better and better for Black Panther. Marvel Studios’ 18th film is now the highest rated superhero movie on Rotten Tomatoes. It already had the best score on the Tomatometer with 97%, but now it has the highest adjusted score on Rotten Tomatoes’ official rankings.
Rotten Tomatoes makes an adjustment to account for the variation in the number of reviews per movie to determine their final rankings. Black Panther‘s adjusted score is 117.552%, which puts it ahead of Wonder Woman (108.588%) for first place.

I hate to be THAT dude, but the movie was good, not great. In today’s world, giving this film a bad review would be like lighting yourself on fire with the public backlash you’d take concerning political correctness. BP is now my favorite MCU character, but the film had its issues in more than a few areas. It was a solid 7.5(maybe 8)/10, but those treating it like TDK or the first Avengers need a reality check.

all mcu movies are the same, same structure and formula, but this one seems to be better because is not a comedy, but i highly doubt is one of the best or even a geat movie

The concept is strong, but it’s so filled with filler material, awkward social media references, and a poor CGI filled third act, that it’s incredibly hard for me to give this movie the praise I wanted to.

It ain’t no Dark Knight, no superhero film will be (expect Logan), but it is a lot better than The Avengers (excpet for the CGI final fight).

The final act in BP was poorly executed from the CGI train to the awkwardly placed CGI rhinos. The people in my showing let out a bit of laughter when the rhinos showed up.

The first guy that did give it a Rotten review got tons of back lash, called racist etc.
I agree it was a really good movie but certainly not the best superhero movie ever made. I’d put winter soldier, Avengers 1, iron man 1 from the MCU and Superman the movie, The Dark Knight and yes even Wonder Woman from DC above it (I know some would strongly disagree but these are just the movies I prefer.)-
The first person to upload a mixed-not negative-review of Civil War to RT (which went “rotten”) got death threats. The site was The Young Folks. They had to close the comment section and issue a statement.
Funny how no one ever hears about things like that.

Irrelevant is a strong word for something that can hurt a movie like say I don’t know justice league.

I think for movies like Justice League people decided whether or not they were going to see it a long time ago. Same thing with the upcoming Infinity War, the produce score won’t matter, people will decide.
However, I do think there are some movies like Dunkirk that need highly positive reviews for people to sway them to go, which, unfortunately, does make RT relevant.

LOL well rotten tomatoes won’t pass and opportunity to toot their own horns, you know I thought the movie was good, and yes better than Wonder Woman, it just doesn’t seem to me like either one should be that high. Above 100% that is. What in the actual cabbage.

TDKR above Begins… in terms of scope and production value, I can see it. But that’s it.

For sure, TDK is a modern classic. As to TDKR, in theaters it was awesome, but the small screen was not kind to it.

Rotten Tomatoes is a joke. If you spend 15 minutes on their site, another 15 doing minor research and have an above average level of intelligence you would come to that conclusion.
As far as this story goes there’s a clear attempt at this family of Web Sites to produce quantity over quality. Mission successful, you must be very proud.

Yeah I’ll refresh my memory after I go through the mcu again before IW, and the xmen films with my kids, they never saw em, except my daughter who watched DOFP. They’re kids so they’re not cynical but I’ll listen to them and they’re like “why does Drax laugh at everything?” LOL

No one with common sense would argue with that. But when you’re targeting the lowest common denominator “fresh” and “rotten” work better with those lacking common sense than “average rating.”
You look for that average rating, so you know the font is just a size above the fine print on experimental drugs. Also, if you were to visit RT on your mobile phone browser, the average rating is nowhere to be found.

Yeah, where did the weird literalism go? It’s like they watched the Milano crash and said “laugh like that again! Again!” I disagree concerning Tony, he’s my favorite MCU character, I think he has changed the most. Yeah on Civil War and homecoming he cracked wise, but in Civil War he also was pretty gloomy and angry while on homecoming he was being a father figure the best he could. As for joker, I get what you mean, and I guess we will just never know.

I will say that I was fine with it but was later influenced by Cracked, paraphrasing here “paralyzed? Here’s a coat hanger”, 😂 and I just can’t get it out of my head. I can buy it though, Bruce Lee got kicked in the back and was paralyzed but got back on his feet and back to crazy skills.
