Black Panther is about to jump up two spots on the all-time domestic box office rankings. With an estimated $10.2M on Friday, Black Panther enters Saturday with approximately $531M domestic. That means it will pass both Rogue One: A Star Wars Story ($532.2M) and The Dark Knight ($534.9M) today for seventh place all-time in North America.
Remember when The Dark Knight became the fourth highest grossing film of all time worldwide?
Now it’s 33rd. Crazy.

is because of how the money works and not that more people actually went to see this or that movie :/

Headline: “‘Black Panther’ surpasses ‘The Dark Knight’ as highest-grossing standalone superhero movie”
First line of story: “Black Panther is about to jump up two spots on the all-time domestic box office rankings.”
Guess waiting until tomorrow was too much to ask.

“…The Dark Knight made over $680M domestically when we account for inflation. Based on the difference in ticket prices from 2008 to 2018, that is true, but inflation is not factored into the official, all-time box office rankings and for good reason.”
Translation: Your math doesn’t count because I said so.
“Mathematical equations can often have multiple unknown variables.”
I must’ve missed that disclaimer when this site was touting that 117 percent of critics approve of Black Panther.
“All-time box office rankings are simply a feather in the cap. They are worth noting as a new film climbs the latter, but certainly not worth getting upset about or defending vigorously.
The Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan has already shown his support for Black Panther…”
Another Translation: Shut the f*** up DC fans, even your God Nolan approves of this movie, so deal with it and leave my Twitter account alone!

And for anyone who wants to call me a “DC apologist” or a “pathetic DC fanboy” or a “DC c*********” this is for you:
Read the article-not the summary-and tell me it isn’t a pile of garbage. The first two paragraphs are relevant, that’s it. The rest is “your arguments don’t count because I know I wrote a piece of s*** that I can’t or don’t want to defend so leave me alone.”
For all the crap I’ve given Chris Begley at least he’s not afraid of dumping in WB’s cornflakes. Can’t say the same for Sean Gerber. Marvel Studios News is nothing more than a propoganda arm of Disney.

The difference is, people went and saw TDK because it was a great film. People saw BP because it was political. Not saying BP wasn’t good, but its quality is most certainly not the biggest reason as to why it has been such a success. And also, TDK still sold more tickets, so there’s that.

Tickets? Why you bringing up tickets?
It’s just a feather in the cap man, why are you getting upset and defending it vigorously? (insert sarcasm/eye-rolling emojis here)

And don’t forget : without China.. Quantity can’t beat quality.
