Box office: How Tom Cruise compares to Johnny Depp, Robert Downey Jr., Dwayne Johnson and Will Smith

Thanks to Mission: Impossible – Fallout’s massive global figures, Tom Cruise’s cumulative global box office totals has reached the $10 billion mark. That makes him one of the biggest-grossing actors of all time, in terms of unadjusted global earnings. And while he’s not at the very top of the list (so sayeth Box Office Mojo), he is easily the biggest-grossing actor who is both A) primarily a leading actor/actress and B) didn’t get an assist from a bunch of franchises. Most of his hits were hits because they were Tom Cruise movies.
