The critically-lambasted Spider-Verse pilot is now a half-billion-dollar grosser. It opens in China on Nov. 9, meaning that we could see a total about $650m for this one. In terms of budget-to-gross, this one could be more profitable than Sony’s various Spider-Man movies. Even Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man “only” earned 6.3x its $130m budget back in 2002.
