Aquaman got off to a solid overseas start this week, as it launched in 43 foreign territories and had a paid national sneak preview in North America. The film earned $126.4m overseas including $54m in its second weekend in China (more on that below), for a $261.3m ten-day global cume. In “like for like” markets, it was 65% higher than Justice League and more than double Wonder Woman. The national sneak previews in North America, which took place last night courtesy of Atom Tickets and Amazon Prime, did their job last night, spreading positive word of mouth along the lines of ‘Better than I expected!’ or ‘Unthinkably stupid and shamefully ridiculous… go see it! The stage is set for a strong domestic debut.
