Read the Full StoryIt looks like Warner Bros./Time Warner Inc. finally listened to me. I’ve been saying for ages that Warner Bros. should move Wonder Woman 1984 from its November 1, 2019 release date into the June 5, 2020 slot. And now, moments ago, they did just that. Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman 1984 will open on June 5, 2020, three years to the weekend of the last blockbuster movie. This is a sigh of relief for Terminator and Sonic the Hedgehog, and it’ll make the whole end-of-2019 slate less crowded. So kudos to Jumanji 3, Frozen 2 and Star Wars 9 on those extra global bucks. But more importantly, it means (especially with Marvel’s post-Avengers 4 slate in flux and no Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 set for May of 2020), that Gal Gadot’s superhero sequel has a strong chance of (again) being the top-grossing domestic release of the summer.
