You hear it all the time. “Why isn’t the superhero smiling in this trailer?” Actually, you never hear that, unless the superhero is female. No one cared that Stephen Strange failed to show off his pearly whites in Doctor Strange trailers, but apparently, Brie Larson was supposed to in the Captain Marvel trailer.
Larson is not amused, though her response to this sexist criticism is amusing. The MCU’s newest captain highlighted just how ludicrous this knock on the Captain Marvel trailer is by modifying a few other Marvel one-sheets in her Instagram story.

Actually, DC fans heard that a bunch. With BvS, especially Superman. Ironic when they say Superman isn’t smiling because then you would have people comment back with scenes of Superman smiling.

Only after seeing the 2hr 20 film film were those complaints popping up about Cavill’s Superman. You didn’t hear those complaints about the MOS *teaser*. It was rightly regarded as one of the best ever.

I never mentioned MoS. I specifically said BvS.

What a moron she is. Perfectly shows why she shouldn’t be playing this role.

she does smile in the trailer, also at this point is hard to take seriously the “sexist” accusations

It’s not that she’s not smiling in the trailer, she look genuinely bored and gave same facial expression through out the whole trailer
she is giving this kind of statement to get attention, cause the trailer didn’t work so she had to give controversial statement to get PR1 like-
“It’s not that she’s not smiling in the trailer . . . “
The talking point is evolving, I see.

Just watched teasers for IM, Thor, Cap, BP, Doc Strange. Zero smiles. Zero complaints. Fury having more lines than Carol? The ancient one’s voice over dominated the DS teaser trailer. Again, zero complaints.

Because they actually showed emotion in their trailers while brie looks like a robot in the trailer. Nobody complained about that in wonder woman trailers neither but leftists are going to conveniently ignore that. Morons.

There’s criticism every time a superhero movie trailer/teaser/movie drops. It’s always different, specific to the character. Lesser known characters get some (general audience don’t know who they are) and well-known ones get some (general audiences KNOW who they are). It’s unavoidable. The “sexist” turn on this is a bit much, it’s just because it’s a female led superhero film. It’d get criticism anyways. You can’t just say every criticism over a female starring/half-directed film is sexist or you run the risk of being full of shit. Think of the great SH movies that got criticism (Heath Ledger ring a bell? Robert Downey JR.? GOTG? Paul Rudd? )
Personally, I’m taking my daughter to this on opening night. Thursday night if possible. It looks great. It looks like a Marvel movie, and they haven’t let me down yet. Quit with the “sexist” shit. It’s just internet nonsense. Black Panther made more domestic than Infinity War because we’re racist. Rogue One made more domestic than SW E1 and TDKR because we’re sexist. Wonder Woman made more domestic than all but 24 other movies because we hate women.
Oh wait, people pay to see movies that entertain them, not because they want to add to another movie’s demographic deserting them.0 likes
