Captain America’s new beard has been one of the most talked about Avengers: Infinity War topics since a select group of fans first caught a glimpse of it in the footage shown at D23 Expo last July. It was famous months before the whole world finally got to see it in the trailer released back in December.
Evans, who often sports a beard when he’s not on a movie set, welcomed the change to Steve Rogers’ usually clean-cut aesthetic. As he tells Bim Adewunmi and Nichole Perkins of BuzzFeed‘s Thirst Aid Kit podcast, Cap needed a new look, at least for a bit.

I don’t get it…Captain America gets to keep his beard in the film and Superman doesn’t even when they both had one? plus Superman had a black suit he didn’t get to wear…and I am a DC fan by the way…

Yeah, skipping the beard and black suit was such a shame… :( They knew everyone was hoping to see that – Henry even teased the black suit on Instagram, and he looked great with a beard in MoS.
I’m assuming this was part of WB hacking up JL to be more colorful and fun. I betcha anything Snyder wanted to do it.

35, and lemme tell ya, I love working out. He’s not telling us everything. Notice he says stuff like staying that big is hard and he wants to be more functional. That’s the talk of someone who has bodybuilt. Bodybuilding is functional, if your functions are lifting heavy things and putting them back down. Movies require you to “look” strong, but big fat powerlifters are stronger than say that huge guy on Fury Road. So you gotta lift for aesthetics and turn around and learn boxing or something and pretend boxing got you looking like Arnold. And the hardest thing about bodybuilding is not working out: it’s eating. Eating all day long. Pooping way more than is normal. Think if the stunts and acting and accidental cardio just from your metabolism being boosted by eating more and exercising, that means eating even more just to still gain! And even if he’s done gaining like he says he’s still maintaining, no easy feat either, both of them require knowing your calorie intake to the T, just to not gain fat or lose muscle mass. 36. That’s young, though to old to start training for the Olympia of course. No, I think it’s the eating. It’ll make you hate bodybuilding. None of them really say it very often, I think Gerard Butler mentioned it, but even Jackman said he loved bodybuilding but was tired of subjecting his “body” to it. We assume muscles and joints, and we’re probably right, but it’s not only that. It’s your gut and your butt. Man I’m sick of bulking, but I love lifting.
