Captain America’s new beard has been one of the most talked about Avengers: Infinity War topics since a select group of fans first caught a glimpse of it in the footage shown at D23 Expo last July. It was famous months before the whole world finally got to see it in the trailer released back in December.
Evans, who often sports a beard when he’s not on a movie set, welcomed the change to Steve Rogers’ usually clean-cut aesthetic. As he tells Bim Adewunmi and Nichole Perkins of BuzzFeed‘s Thirst Aid Kit podcast, Cap needed a new look, at least for a bit.
