on Chris Evans and Tom Holland are charging fans $350-$495 for an autograph and photo at ACE Comic-Con

Unfortunately, these high prices are pretty typical for big stars at Comic-Cons these days. Do you think they’re ridiculous, or should actors be able to charge fans whatever they’d like? Let me know in the comments below.

Autographs and selfies are not crucial things to own. If one feels the price is too high… don’t buy them.

Understandable. They’d be there for days on end if everyone had access to them. That should cut the crowds significantly.

yes the actors should be able to charge what they want… because at least he moment they cant and that why the prices are so high.

Not everyone can go to comic con and even after people get to comic or if they get to comic con air fare is extremely expensive you also have to pay for a hotel room and meals while you are gone and pay for a rental car or Uber and admission to get in to comic con. After you pay that you have to pay any extra $500+ to see the people you’ve already paid all this money to come for and I would definitely pay that much money to see them but after I pay $1000+ to see them I’d kinda like the prices around $50-$500 for most of the stuff because not everyone can afford to go.

Chris Evans didnt even show up he cancelled due to “illness” EVEN THOUGH HE WAS JUST FINE THE DAY BEFORE. He was just probably HUNGOVER is what I said to everyone. no apology or nothing from Cap to the fans who paid $. luckily my son and I were able to exchange his photo op for Tom Holland AND Jon Bernthal Thank Goodness….Thought Evans was more of a man than that.

Anthony Mackie is a an obnoxious tool. Was rude as hell to a blogger at an official press thing at SDCC the first year anybody knew who he was. A snot-nosed punk. Just like his “mentor” Samuel L. Jackson. Who is so anti white it’s disgusting.

totally agree , Mackie is obnoxious…he’s trying to be RDJ. EVERY MOVIE HE’S BEEN IN SUCKED until he got casted into the Marvel Universe. Falcon character isnt shakespeare and he can barely act as that character.

While I personally wouldn’t pay these prices, Chris Begley is misleading people by saying you “only” get and photo and autograph with the VIP packages. You get, well, here Begley, I’ll do your job for you:

    http://www.aceuniverse.com/…

Quite a bit more than a signed picture, wouldn’t you agree?

So again it begs the question: Did you bother to read all that or did you exclude it intentionally because it makes for better click-bait?

Either way, it just proves how lazy and desperate for web traffic you are.

And no, I don’t visit your sites intentionally, there are people I follow that, for some reason, like to frequent your trash sites.

Well it sucks how these guy charge the fans lots of cash when they make millions for a movie , 8 years ago I got autographs for 10 to 20 bucks at a fanexpo in Toronto. Now it’s 40 to 100 +
I just sucks to pay out 2 day’s pay for autograph and that’s why I don’t go to Cons no more

if fanboys/girls are willing to pay it, then the rich keep getting richer and people dumb enough to pay it keep living at home with their parents.

    1. cjflan32 Avatar
      cjflan32

Because people living with their parents have money for air fare, hotel and VIP packages. What a stupid comment.

      1. Mitchell Foster Avatar
        Mitchell Foster

Money for air fare+hotels+VIP packages+costly autographs+high priced memorabilia = hundreds (sometimes thousands) of dollars which then = not enough money for rent/house payment+electric bill+food+car payment+etc. Yes, there are exceptions for those who can afford to do those things and still have a fulfilling life but, most fanboy’s I have met who love to splurge on those things, live at home with parents or depend on other people. To some comic book fanboys, it is like a drug. But, to get to the heart of of my original comment, if people are dumb enough to keep paying the high prices that celebrites charge, then we (comic book/comic book movie fans) don’t really have a leg to stand on when complaining about it.

FFS not this crappy “article” again…
It’s the organizers of the event that set the price and take most of the revenue.
You know, because they have to make back the money they spent on bringing the actors to the event. Yes, they charge for their time there, who knew?

“The actors have a say in this too” Okay let’s play out that conversation:

Actor: Hey man, you need to charge less for the photos and autographs.
Event Organizer: Okay sure pal, if you charge me less for your appearance here.
Actor: Hell no buddy, my time is precious, the price my agent set is more than fair.
Event Organizer: Well too bad then.

    In conclusion:
Most actors don’t give a shit, their appearance at the event is just an extra source of income for them.
You have to understand that these things (autographs, photos, meet&greets) at cons are not for everybody. Only for those that can and are willing to pay. Otherwise the actors would spend days signing and posing for everyone…

Unlike Chris Begley, I’m willing to admit I have no idea one way or another.

I will say this: I find it strange that Chris Evans and Tom Holland, who work for Disney, have any say in this.

On the flip side, I find it hard to believe that anyone tells Hulk Hogan, who is also at this event, what he can and can’t charge.

Right?! , I paid $495 for a Chris Evans VIP package ( Photo Op, 3 day passes, presigned autograph & gift bag full of freebies) because my son who is a teenager and going into the military wanted to meet his idol Cap.America. Only for the prick to cancel on us Sunday due to “illness” when he was perfectly fine the day before. Luckily we got to meet Tom Holland and Jon Bernthal instead at no charge….the fact he cancelled didnt bother me as much as he/Evans didnt even put out a TWEET apologizing to the fans…Karl Urban cancelled but at least he sent out a tweet apologizing to all his fans. EVANS DIDNT DO THIS. And a fan photo popped up later with Evans in Los Angeles!!! Really Evans!? …to quote one of Evans’ tweets …”Dont be an asshole”.

        1. It’s funny you think that Tom Holland has a say in anything, like he’s Robert Downey Jr. or Natalie Portman. He gets to play Spider-Man as long as Disney allows it.

        2. This is the second time you’ve posted a story like this. If this bothers you so much maybe, and I’m just spitballing here, you actually find out who’s to blame for these high prices or, I don’t, look at a different company and see what they were charging. You’re the one who covers “ALL the news”, right?

        3. Interesting how you framed these VIP packages as “just” a photo op and an autograph. Were you too lazy to read the whole thing or did you decide to leave some information out because it didn’t fit your narrative?

and the fact is con have a lot of good stuff and fans look forward to them.
so as an actor your options are ether not go and disappoint fans or put up with it.

    2. Don of the Dead Avatar
      Don of the Dead

Actually the stars and their agents set the prices.

      1. Lucian Avatar
        Lucian

you are correct the agent and the star give a minimum amount that they will be guaranteed to get from the Con say 100,000 for the weekend the con then divides that by the minimum number of people they think they have that will buy the picture or autograph. If the Sales exceed the 100K the actor gets more money if the sales don’t make the 100K the Con has to make up the difference out of its own revenue.

    3. Carolann Waggner Avatar
      Carolann Waggner

Bull. The celebs themselves are adults and make the final decision on prices. They just blame their managers cause their balls don’t function.
