Daredevil has been canceled after three seasons. Netflix officially announced the series will not return for a fourth season. This comes on the heels of previous cancellations for Iron Fist and Luke Cage. The partnership between Marvel and Netflix is coming to an end.
The decision to cancel was likely made by Netflix. They don’t want to pay millions for these licenses anymore and are gambling on lesser known comic shows in the future that don’t require huge licensing fees.
I don’t think this has anything to do with Disney and more to do with Netflix being cheap, and not willing to pay millions to use the characters anymore. They are gambling on lesser known comic shows in the future that don’t require huge licensing fees.
Wrong, in pretty much every aspect season 3 was the weakest one of them all, it failed into the “netflix trap” of looking cheap and having too much filler, the opposite of what happened in the previous two seasons
I didn’t like how they spent like an entire episode on Karen Page’s back story. Did we really need to know she was an addict who unintentionally caused the death of her brother? No we didn’t.
“The character will live on in other projects” Seems to me that doesn’t mean they’re going to keep going with the show, otherwise they would have said something more like “the series will continue on the new Disney streaming service”

So as it turns out, Netflix owns the rights to all the versions of the characters on their platform. As in they don’t own Dare Devil, they own that version of him in some aspect. None of the shows will continue, at least not with those actors and story-lines from the Netflix universe. They will all be re-booted if Disney+ does those shows.

Disney won’t be happy until they make all of Marvel’s properties toddler friendly.
