Back in 2015, Marvel Studios had discussions with director Ava DuVernay about helming Black Panther. The two sides couldn’t agree on a vision for that movie, but all is well that ends well. Marvel found their Black Panther director in Ryan Coogler while DuVernay moved on to adapting A Wrinkle in Time for Disney. Based on the spellbinding new trailer above, moviegoers will be glad DuVernay chose this project while probably hoping she still winds up directing a Marvel movie later on down the line.
A Wrinkle in Time is due in theaters March 9, 2018.
From visionary director Ava DuVernay comes Disney’s “A Wrinkle in Time,” an epic adventure based on Madeleine L’Engle’s timeless classic which takes audiences across dimensions of time and space, examining the nature of darkness versus light and, ultimately, the triumph of love. Through one girl’s transformative journey led by three celestial guides, we discover that strength comes from embracing one’s individuality and that the best way to triumph over fear is to travel by one’s own light.
