GotG Vol. 2 snagged $65.3 million in its second frame, dropping only 55.45% (when not doing any rounding on the weekend totals).
That is the sixth best hold that Marvel Studios has experienced through its 15 movie releases. It is the second best hold that the studio has had for a film that earned over $100 million in its opening weekend, trailing only The Avengers, which dropped only 50.32% from its historic $207.4 million opening back in 2012.
