Continuing Marvel’s unbroken streak of 15 #1 debuts, the film opened domestically May 5 with $146.5 million, the #2 debut of the year and the #17 debut ever. It’s the #2 movie of the year domestically and the #3 movie of the year internationally and globally. Last weekend, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 surpassed the total domestic ($333.2M), international ($440.2M), and worldwide grosses ($773.3M) of its 2014 predecessor, Guardians of the Galaxy.
