Hans Zimmer comes out of superhero movie retirement to score ‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’

Hans Zimmer is returning to superhero movies. The composer behind The Dark Knight Trilogy and other comic book movies is scoring X-Men: Dark Phoenix for Fox this year. Zimmer had previously said he was retiring from superhero movies after Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Evan Peters, who plays Quicksilver in the franchise, shared the news on MTV’s Happy Sad Confused podcast with Josh Horowitz (via Collider). Peters was talking about the experience of working with director Simon Kinberg, who is directing his first film when he let the bigger news slip.
