James Gunn not sure ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ gets made if Marvel already owned ‘X-Men’ and ‘Fantastic Four’

By the middle of next year, Marvel Studios is going to have more access to prominent characters than they may know what to do with. It’s a good problem to have, but Marvel fans can’t help but wonder how the studio will manage the X-Men and Fantastic Four franchises will be integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe that has been built by The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy.

GotG franchise writer-director James Gunn isn’t even sure there would have been space, no pun intended, for his misfit heroes if mutants had been in the MCU this entire time.
