Last night, Latino Review reported that Jason Statham was in talks to play the villain Bullseye in season 2 of Daredevil. Today, Bloody-Disgusting said they heard the same thing. Not so fast…
While promoting his new movie Spy, Statham took a shot at Marvel’s approach to action:
“A lot of the modern action movies you see, Marvel comic sort of things, I just think that any guy could do it. I have no ambition. I could take my grandma and put her in a cape, and they’ll put her on a green screen and they’ll have stunt doubles come in and do all the action. Anybody can do it. They’re relying on stunt doubles, and green screen, and $200 million budgets, it’s all CGI created. To me, it’s not authentic.”
Shortly after this new video interview was released, Bloody-Disgusting back tracked on their Daredevil report. They now claim that because the news about Statham being up for the role of Bullseye leaked out, negotiations were called off.
Bottom line, don’t expect to see Jason Statham in Daredevil or any Marvel production any time soon.
