on Jason Statham slams Marvel as ‘Daredevil’ Bullseye rumors die down (video)

Last night, Latino Review reported that Jason Statham was in talks to play the villain Bullseye in season 2 of Daredevil. Today, Bloody-Disgusting said they heard the same thing. Not so fast…

While promoting his new movie Spy, Statham took a shot at Marvel’s approach to action:

“A lot of the modern action movies you see, Marvel comic sort of things, I just think that any guy could do it. I have no ambition. I could take my grandma and put her in a cape, and they’ll put her on a green screen and they’ll have stunt doubles come in and do all the action. Anybody can do it. They’re relying on stunt doubles, and green screen, and $200 million budgets, it’s all CGI created. To me, it’s not authentic.”

Shortly after this new video interview was released, Bloody-Disgusting back tracked on their Daredevil report. They now claim that because the news about Statham being up for the role of Bullseye leaked out, negotiations were called off.

Bottom line, don’t expect to see Jason Statham in Daredevil or any Marvel production any time soon.

I suppose Furious 7 is very authetic, particularly the bits with Paul Walker and car flyng out of skyscrappers and planes.

What a wanker. He doesn’t do all of his own stunts. He doesn’t have a stunt double or has never used one? Shut up you pussy.

I don’t necessarily approve of Statham’s comments, but I do like to see LatinoReview wrong for the millionth time.

Yes. Because if you even knew what you were talking about you would have known that The Expendables cast did all their own stunts, which lead to Stallone feacturing his neck in the firat movie and Statham nearly drowning in the second. You fucking idiot.

        Hey

That’s true, they make their own stunts in those films, but that doesn’t save them from being awful.

The worst amnd most CGI-heavy Marvel film is still better than any of that very Expendable film series. Or The Transporter, while we’re at it.

Taht said, I don’t dislike Statham. He’s an interesting presence, but his quality films are few.

I was referring more about them being “authentic”… now go have a nice long soak in the bath to calm down. Maybe light some candles

Watch him already have a contract with WB/DC. Sounds just like Jason Momoa.

I wonder if he has seen Daredevil, though. Great stunts on the first season.

I’m PRETTY SURE that the action in Spy, wasn’t completely authentic. LOL

So I guess the MCU isn’t for EVERYBODY. But the hilarious Spy movie, certainly is (except for people under the age of 17).

This mother fucker talking about big budgets and cgi. Fuck him this fuck was just in a fucking movie where they dropped vehicles out of a plane and drove them through 3 skyscrapers.

He says this about Marvel, but he could be saying it about DC as well. Except for Suicide Squad, DC movies are going to be CGI heavy as well.
