We have already known that Captain Marvel, starring Brie Larson, will have major cosmic elements besides Carol Danvers’ own powers including two of the biggest, most impactful alien races in Marvel Comics history, the Skrulls and the Kree.
Now we know Marvel Studios isn’t necessarily looking for a way to bring all of those elements to Earth and keep the action there. Kevin Feige tells Entertainment Weekly, among other things about Nick Fury and genre inspirations for the film, that Captain Marvel will be set in space. He also explains why the film is set in the 1990s.
