Black Panther is a very special movie for many reasons, but also much more than that. It is already massive cultural event despite the fact that most moviegoers have yet to see it. That is the power of this great film and the power of representation.
There has been a laundry list of excuses as to why major studios have taken so long to tell inclusive stories that better represent the audiences who see them. One of the most popular excuses is the “fear” that lesser known, non-white actors will not be able to sell their movies to global audiences who don’t know those actors as well.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige tells Vulture that such concerns are not rooted in truth and can be dispelled by films like Black Panther.

Well, don’t stop there. Do keep on disproving those bigots’ myths of people disliking such movies. Make Captain Marvel a lesbian, and after killing off spidey in IW, bring in Miles Morales. Heck, while you’re at it, buy the rights to Super Shamou (google it), & make a billion from that movie, disproving that myth even further!

Wow since Kevin had a whole lot to do with that.. and do you know how many different races were slaves?! ALOT, Irish, Europeans, Christians were sold to slavery in Spain. and there is still slavery going on in Africa!! also we live in a time today where everything you do has to be politically correct.. so kevin’s social status is decided by how many black friends he has.. wtf stupid shit is that? ur the one being racist! the dude has a passion for bringing these characters to life and not only that when has there been a black super hero movie that is all about him and his culture and i mean if they do it great and with justice it should be celebrated!! now African American kids have a real superhero that isn’t some side character and is the King of Wakanda who is super intelligent, acts like a real man and isn’t yelling “lets get it!!” to look up too and want to be like how isn’t that cool and light heartening?!

lol you are so full of shit! spawn and steel?! come on.. black culture isn’t africa?! HEY NO SHIT! lol wasn’t acting like it was i was saying it was all about black panther and his culture and that now African Americans have a superhero that isn’t some regular dude in a weird looking wing suit, while also being a King of a country! One thing i’ve realized with you is that you’re one hell of a manipulator.. lol if no one cares then why is everyone talking about it?! you are just being negative and unhappy! and alot of the ppl that are super excited are African Americans!!

We get it, Black Panther is African American, this is the first African American superhero movie (it’s not), and will become the highest grossing film with an African American in the lead role (assuming Zoe Saldana in CGI doesn’t count as a lead role).
We’re all so lucky to be living in such a glorious time. Tales will be told of February 16, the day the world changed forever.

Representation is meaningless and is completely irrelevant to the quality of the film. I’m tired of people politicizing these non-political films.

Representation? Haven’t black people been represented in movies since, oh I don’t know, the late 60s?! Where is the movement for Mexican representation, you know the ones who built and still build and maintain this country while the blacks pretend they don’t have opportunity but they are the second most well off race next to whites and the first in laziness. (Ask any worker in any non entertainment industry business who the laziest race is)

Actually, Asians outperform whites in pretty much every single way.
Mexicans are also not a race, but a nationality. Latin-Americans are also frequently categorized as “white”. As for Mexicans “building the US”, I don’t know. I’m not American. However, considering that blacks have been 13% of the population since forever, but white people made up 85+% only a century ago in the US, I think it’s unlikely that Mexicans “built” this country is just under 100 years. Not to take away from what they are doing now. I’m just saying.
My point is, I don’t care about representation. And frankly, no one should care. I haven’t seen my nationality “represented” in Hollywood films EVER. But because I’m Caucasian, that suddenly makes it okay. That’s just a double standard.
I’m not asking for representation though, because individuals of my nationality don’t reflect me as a person. And to pretend otherwise would be foolish.
I don’t know how else to explain it other than I just absolutely do not give a fuck about race, skin color, or what have you.2 likes -
laziest race, what are you, retarded?

Wow i don’t think it has anything to do with race more like the person! and If you knew anything about construction you would know that Mexicans only like doing roofs and drywall lol and what some ppl didn’t actually get about trumps “wall” claim was alot for the union workers cause there’s a lot of bullshit big union corporations that are sub contracting out to NON union companies for cheaper labor and they’ll bring in some dude’s that don’t have a green card or anything work for six weeks then go back to mexico which is bullshit cause these union workers aren’t getting their work esp when they’ve put in their dues all so the BIG WIGS can have more cash to themselves.. smh!
