“There are so many,” Feige told Vulture last week, “but I would say, both because of the characters and the actors who’ve created them, Doctor Strange and Tony Stark.” And while Benedict Cumberbatch and Robert Downey Jr.’s clash of goateed titans is practically guaranteed, Feige encouraged fans to think outside the box when pondering which other characters might share scenes. “Particularly in Infinity War and the movie after that,” Feige teased, smiling, “there are … unexpected team-ups.”

*sigh* After seeing Civil War and Doctor Strange this year, I’m just about done watching the MCU movies. They’re both good (but not great) movies, but man they were predictable. Also the villains for both movies are incredibly weak. In fact, all the MCU villains excluding Loki and maybe Ultron are bad. Also the musical scores (with a few exceptions) are forgettable and terrible. The MCU films for the most part are well made and enjoyable, but I feel the films focus too much on world-building and cheap (but still funny) jokes. They all have similar formulas. Only three films out of the entire MCU had any legitimate dramatic tension that engaged me, they are Iron Man, Winter Soldier, and The Avengers.
I’ll still gladly take the worst of the MCU over Fant4stic, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and Green Lantern. These were all attempts to make their own universes after the MCU, and all of them fail.
The Fox X-Men universe is holding it’s own. I mean, First Class, DoFP and Deadpool I think are far better than any other MCU movie. Sure, some of them are just plain bad (looking right at you X-Men Origins: Wolverine, X-Men: Apocalypse, and X-Men 3!) and some forgettable (The Wolverine), but I think these are the overall good ones.
Another thing to note is that the DCEU films are in trouble in my eyes. While I think Man of Steel is better than about half of the MCU movies, and I enjoy Batman v Superman’s Ultimate Edition, and consider some of Suicide Squad to be a guilty pleasure, all of these films should have been amazing, and they weren’t, which is criminal! Still looking forward to Wonder Woman though. Hopefully that one is good and doesn’t focus on world-building and actually tells a good story!
