Captain Marvel represents a lot of firsts for Marvel Studios. It is the studio’s first film led entirely by a female hero (Evangeline Lilly’s Hope van Dyne co-headlines Ant-Man and the Wasp next month). Anna Boden, who is directing the film alongside Ryan Fleck, is the first female director for the studio. Now, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has its first female composer in Pinar Toprak, who will score Captain Marvel.
Because women have brains too! Can’t let men do all the hard work! Welcome to the 2010s, my friend! Deal with it!

I asked you to give me one reason why there “SHOULD” be more women in this field. Not why there COULD be. Of course women have brains, that goes without saying. Now tell me, why SHOULD there be more women in this field? What does them being female have got to do with their ability to do the job? Evidently, nothing. Which is precisely why there’s absolutely no need for more women in this field. As there’s absolutely nothing a woman can do, that a man can’t (and vise versa). So for the last time, why should there be more women simply by virtue of them having a vagina? Give me one good reason, other than you being a sexist and imposing equality of outcome at the expense of equality of opportunity, which is inherently bigoted and requires discrimination, by definition.

Whoa! No need to get nasty! I’m not sexist XDLol!! I’m open -mXDLOL! I’m more interested in ladies than dudes! No offense to dudes! I’m a guy myself! I have favorite male characters too like the MCU version of Spider-Man and Quicksilver and Capper Dapperpaws from The 2017 MLP Movie for examples !I just love and relate to women the most! That’s all! So, give ladies a chance too! No need to get threatened! Must there always a reason? Just be more flexible ,dude!;)

To be clear, I didn’t explicitly state you ARE a sexist. Just that if you would believe in the things I said, you’d be one.
“So, give ladies a chance too!” But you’re not “just” giving them a chance if you say there SHOULD be more women. You are actively denying men the chance if you do that, and you are also unfairly favoring women because of vagina. This is textbook sexism.
“No need to get threatened!” No one is threatened. I’m saying women don’t get to have a pass simply because they have a pussy. And men should not give up their opportunities just because it makes women feel good. Women should EARN their way in. Not get it because they’re women. That’s ridiculous.
“Must there always a reason?” When it comes to one’s professional life, YES. If I hired a guy simply because he’s male, wouldn’t that be wrong? Or would you also say “must there always be a reason”? Something tells me you wouldn’t apply your own logic in that case. If I said there SHOULD be more white people in the NBA, don’t you see why that would be highly problematic and bigoted?
“Just be more flexible” I’m not flexible when it comes to affirmative action. If you’d only care to look up what this results in, in practice, you wouldn’t be so flexible then, I’m sure.

Stop putting my words in my mouth! Sheesh! I know , I know! It just that some good males are such a rarity! Same with females too! I don’t know! It’s complicated! I’m happy for her job! Go gals! ( And the guys too!) Yay!

No one is putting words in your mouth, me included. I’m simply saying if you think there “should” be more women in this field, simply because they’re women, which you have LITERALLY said, then that leads to a whole lot of other baggage like affirmative action which is more destructive than you clearly care to understand.
Research affirmative action and why it’s horrible… THEN you will understand.

Ok, Ok, I guess you’re right ! Ok, I guess I love women for their intelligence and confidence and kindness and beauty! Guess those are good reasons! :)

Those are not good reasons, lol. The ONLY reason why a woman deserves to be given a job as a composer, is because she is a good composer, period. Nothing else should matter.
End of the day though, composers will always be predominately male, for neurological reasons, the same way that nurses are always going to be predominately female.

Hhhh… you really don’t get it do you? If I said I’d only hire white people and no blacks. Would that be acceptable to you? Would you say “to each their own”. What you don’t realize is, the very thing you argue in favor of, is incredibly dangerous in practice and you clearly don’t realize it.

I guess treating people the same regardless of gender and not imposing some type of neo-marxist view of gender equity is now problematic.
Sweet! The composer of Krypton is composing for Captain Marvel! Makes sense since Captain Marvel has intergalactic elements in it! Good luck to you, girl! Congrats!
