New emails obtained by The Wall Street Journal reveal that Sony and Marvel had discussions in October about a potential scenario that would see Marvel produce a new trilogy of Spider-Man movies while Sony retains “creative control, marketing and distribution”. The emails also revealed that Marvel wanted to include Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War. Unfortunately, the two companies were unable to come to an agreement.
