James Gunn has a lot of support for his potential reinstatement as the director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. His Guardians cast is already behind him, as is Luke Cage star Mike Colter. The actor tweeted his support directly to Gunn late last night.
Hey James. I feel like in time they will reinstate you. Fingers crossed. I don’t feel like every past comment from years ago should be grounds for dismissal. Everyone is on notice now. You deserve a fresh start and a clean slate. And i bias bc you make great films🤷🏾♂️

Ultimately, Disney will have the only say that matters on James Gunn’s employment status. We will have to see if the outpouring of support for Gunn leads to Disney reconsidering their decision to fire him in the first place.
