Marvel extends shortlist for ‘Doctor Strange’ with Matthew McConaughey, Jake Gyllenhaal, among others

Just hours after Ewan McGregor entered the mix for Doctor Strange, Variety has listed five other actors who are said to be on Marvel’s current shortlist. In addition to the aforementioned Star Wars veteran, the trade source reveals that the studio and director Scott Derrickson are now looking at actors Jake Gyllenhaal, Oscar Isaac, Jared Leto, Ethan Hawke, and Matthew McConaughey to potentally play the Sorcerer Supreme on the big-screen.
