Despite the overwhelming success of Deadpool, Fox’s R-rated movie based on the Marvel superhero, Disney CEO Bob Iger says Disney is staying away from that contentious R-rating.
“We don’t have any plans to make R-rated Marvel movies,” Iger said during a call with shareholders.
Could? It’s freakin’ Disney! That’s EXACTLY what it means. Family friendly movies are safer.

Disney doesn’t need to make R-Rated Marvel movies. They make plenty of money as is with how they make movies.
Fox needed to change things up, since they basically killed the Fantastic Four, Wolverine, and Daredevil franchises. X-Men was the only successful franchise they had, and now they lucked onto Deadpool.
I think an R rating could help save the new Wolverine movie.
