Sometimes it pays to not get what you want exactly when you want it. That was definitely the case with Marvel Studios and Jeff Goldblum, who is set to delight audiences all over the world as The Grandmaster in Thor: Ragnarok. All of the fun possibilities with Goldblum as an Elder of the Universe would not have happened, though, if he had been available when Marvel first came calling.
It’s no secret that Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige is a huge film buff. Like any fan, he’s certainly had a wish list of people he’s wanted to work with and he’s been able to cross many notable names off that list. Now he can finally do that with Jeff Goldblum after first missing an opportunity to cast the actor in Captain America: The First Avenger. Feige explained the seemingly unfortunate circumstances that ultimately worked out in Marvel’s favor to Upprox when asked which actor he’d still like to work with one day.
