Marvel Studio celebrates its tenth anniversary as the most successful brand in modern cinema. And this week sees the 4K Blu-ray/DVD release of the 20th film in Marvel’s catalogue, as Ant-Man and the Wasp arrives on home entertainment (the Digital-HD version of the film in brilliant Dolby Vision color released two weeks ago). As part of the celebration, Marvel joined with the Hero Complex Gallery in Los Angeles for a majestic art exhibit showcasing gorgeous concept art from many MCU projects.
I was on hand for the exhibit and celebration, to see the spectacular concept designs and participate in some Q&A about the art of Marvel. VIP attendees included Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, Ant-Man and the Wasp director Peyton Reed, Head of Visual Development Ryan Meinerding, Director of Visual Development Andy Park, and Senior Concept Illustrators Rodney Fuentebella, Jackson Sze, and Anthony Francisco. They all participated in a panel discussion moderated by Alicia Lutes, and mingled to speak with invited guests.
