Marvel Studios had to pull off many herculean tasks in Avengers: Infinity War. One of the most essential was making sure Thanos lived up to six years’ worth of hype. They succeeded thanks in large part to a masterful performance by Josh Brolin, but also because of some fantastic visual effects wizardry.

VFX supervisor Dan DeLeeuw assigned most of the work on Thanos to Digital Domain, though Weta Digital also helped out. Framestore, which Marvel Studios has used quite often, worked on a number of other characters and sequences from Infinity War including the Children of Thanos, their Q-Ship, and Spider-Man’s new armor.

You can see all of this incredible work via the galleries below. The first features new, HD production stills while the second offers a behind-the-scenes look at how some of the VFX shots were created. The images include SPOILERS, so only take a look if you have seen the film.
