‘Power Rangers’ is doing well on home video, and that could be a good thing

Although it was released back in March, discussion revolving around Dean Israelite’s Power Rangers has only continued. While the John Hughes-inspired film was praised for its inclusive cast and modern adaptation of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the movie wasn’t the overwhelming success that the studio had hoped for. The film only made a modest profit at the box office, leaving the future of the franchise in limbo. But Power Rangers is now available for home purchase, and it’s selling pretty damn well. In fact, it’s the number 1 Home Release in the country in its first weekend, beating out hits like John Wick: Chapter 2 and Beauty and the Beast.
