James Gunn may have the support of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 cast, but it appears their open letter has not shifted Disney’s opinion on the matter. Disney is reportedly unlikely to rehire the director after firing him last month, despite the cast’s calls for Gunn to be reinstated.
According to Variety’s sources, both Disney and Marvel believe that Gunn’s vile tweets from years ago remain too serious of an offense for him to be welcomed back to the Disney brand. The Guardians cast did not threaten any sort of boycott, so Disney isn’t worried on that front. Disney also has contracts in place to help ensure the actors’ participation.

Honestly, if his brother is not involved with James’ pedo shit, I don’t see the reason why he wouldn’t be in the next one.
I doubt the new director would just fire the man because he’s not brothers with him.0 likes-
My point is he is not a very talented actor and ONLY has roles in his brothers films. He has very little film credits. Why SHOULD they keep him? He was a victim of the snap. Easy peasy.

Yeah, well I think Disney did it only because of this one tweet.

Hollywood opened a Pandora’s Box with their PC crap, and now it’s come full circle. Although I don’t think mere tweets should get anyone fired, I still think someone should look into this. I’m willing to bet money he’s not clean.
I also think the top of Disney knows his little dirty secrets, and that’s why they’re firing the guy.0 likes
