Much of the cast and director Gareth Edwards will regroup in mid-June for another round of shooting. The move is happening after execs screened the film and felt it was tonally off with what a “classic” Star Wars movie should feel like. The pic has not yet been tested before audiences, but one source describes the cut as having the feel of a war movie.
The goal of the reshoots will be to lighten the mood, bring some levity into the story and restore a sense of fun to the adventure.
Why is Rogue One supposed to feel like a “classic Star Wars film”. Shouldn’t they actively go against that? You know… cause this isn’t a classic SW film?
First Suicide Squad, now this? What’s next? Wolverine 3 getting reshoots to make it more fun?!! I think these are just common reshoots and not actually to make it more “fun”. And this film doesn’t have to feel like a classic star wars movie because it’s more like a spin off, keep that tone fore the main trilogy and do something different and new with the spin offs.
I can’t imagine any Star Wars film being more dry, dull, and funless then the Phantom Menace was, till this day the only Star Wars movie I can’t even force myself to sit right through until the end. Well should be interesting to see how it turns out anyway. The first had me intrigued.
