“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” sold out multiplexes around the world and brought fanboys and fangirls out in force over the weekend. The “Star Wars” prequel scored the second-largest December opening in history, the second-largest launch of the year, and one of the top debuts in history, opening to a massive $155 million in North America. Globally, the film has earned $290.5 million, after touching down in nearly every major foreign market save for China and South Korea.
First two acts of the movie were very slow and kinda boring. Didn’t really care bout the characters enough except for the female lead Jinn. The 3rd act saved the film from being a meh Star Wars film IMO. This movie and story really didn’t need to be told.
Suicide Squad, Miss Peregrines, Xmen, Cap 3, Fantastic Beast, FORCE AWAKENS (Snoke and Maz should’ve been costumes NOT CGI), Transformers, Ninja Turtles, Shall I continue? Lets: Dr. Strange (Dormamu) Planet of the apes, Kong Skull Island, Independance day 2, Deadpool, Warcraft, too many to count…
Cool, I’m sure you agree when CGI is used right (Dark knight Trilogy etc etc etc) is what should be strived for. Its over reliance is why most movies look like shit now. Back to the original point of Star Wars Episode VII, there was no reason Snoke and Maz needed to be CGI. put some make up on Andy Serkis and I guarantee it would have been phenomenal. Gollum worked because he looked believable, the hobbits (in LOTR) were little people with CGI faces/masks in some scenes and it looked believable. THAT is the point. Its what we all want and there is no reason for anyone to disagree with that, but it is the comments section so SOMEONE has to make a point against it right?
a practical approach that still has terrible CGI, when they literally could’ve CGed the side of Andy Serkis’ face, like they did for Harvey Dent. Cheaper than a fully CGI character to boot.
