In this case, it appears that another Iron Man supporting character, and a huge fam favorite, may be making her return to the MCU in the film. A report has surfaced claiming that Pepper Potts will return to the MCU in Spider-Man: Homecoming. If this report is in indeed true, we have Sony to thank for bringing Gwyneth Paltrow back, as they were willing to spend big money on getting talent for the film. This included Paltrow, who’s contract had expired, and seemingly was never renewed by Marvel and Disney.

Isn’t it obvious? During the final battle with Vulture, Peter is going to have to leave so he can make it to his homecoming dance on time, leaving only Iron Man to fight him with Pepper Potts suited up as Rescue!!!!

Why stop there, bring in a flashback of Yinsen to show Stark’s guilt, or hell, bring in that annoying kid from IM3 to show Peter how he can be a hero without the suit.

I never cared that much for the Mary Jane in the Sam Raimi’s trilogy, but I understood why people hate her so much. I never hated her. But Peltrow as Pepper Potts…that’s another story… Being the guy who came to Iron Man at the time when Kurt Busiek started his run, I got to know Pepper Potts as well rounded, super-likable but witty women that will always help Tony Stark in some harsh times. In movies…she’s…eh…
