Rumors began popping up on the fanboy sites over the Independence Day holiday that Samuel L. Jackson was reprising his role as Avengers architect and recruiter Nick Fury in Disney/Marvel’s Captain Marvel. Where there’s smoke, there’s fire, and we hear it’s true that Jackson will be making an appearance in the movie.

Thats cool. I liked how he used to be the connection, and missed him in Civil War. Sheild was already a gov’t agency, surely Sec. Ross wouldve known that. Yea it was crippled in WS by Hydra…but Fury and Hill helped save everyone at the end of Ultron. Ant-man had the Sheild subplot and flashback, but they didnt even include a quick reference to Fury, which would’ve been easy (Lang: “Shouldnt we call The Avengers?” Pym: “Who do I look like? Nick Fury??” Lang: “Who??” Pym: “Nevermind.”)
Overall, Fury put together the team that has since saved the world twice, plus the millions saved by him and Cap in WS. Seemed odd that he disappeared after the end of Ultron, and I’m happy he’s coming back.
