“One of the things that I think is so amazing about this experience is that you don’t have studios deciding to work together to make a film very often,” Pascal said. “In fact, it may never happen again… after we do the sequel.”

That would be a MASSIVE mistake. Sony just keeps on making the same dumb decisions. They make one or two good / great films, get cocky and completely fuck up the sequel.
But Sony’s the best studio ever! Don’t you remember how smart they were to spend so much money in the ghostbusters reboot that they needed more than 500M at the box office in order for the movie to make a profit? See how well that turned out! They’re the best!
All I know is, they better put Mysterio in the next movie, maybe with Green Goblin…
Ha! Give Spiderman back to Sony!
Spidey being in the MCU is a win win for everyone. The fans for obvious reasons. Sony because fans have regained interest in Spider-Man movies. Marvel/Disney because they get to use one of the greatest comic characters ever which at the very least makes them even more money. To cut that off would be financial suicide for Sony and their Spider-Man films.
And why in the world is Pascal still involved in these things? If the Sony hack proved anything it’s that she shouldn’t be in charge of these decisions anymore.
