After a few days of teasers, an official title has been confirmed for the next Spider-Man movie starring Tom Holland: Spider-Man: No Way Home. The movie is set to hit theaters on December 17, 2021, to which we say: Spider-Man: There’s No Way That’s Happening Because of the Pandemic.
The movie’s title was revealed in a post on Twitter, complete with an accompanying video poking fun at Holland’s inability to keep a secret. The news comes after Holland and co-stars Zendaya and Jacob Batalon shared joke titles to their respective Instagram pages. Those titles were Spider-Man: Phone Home, Spider-Man: Home Slice, and Spider-Man: Home-Wrecker.

The video shared on Twitter takes the joke a step further with what looks like a brainstorming session gone off the deep end. On a whiteboard with Spider-Man: No Way Home in big letters, there are a number of other “ideas,” including Home Alone and Home Sweet Home. There are even a few titles that make light of the current pandemic, like Stay At Home and Work From Home.
Spider-Man: No Way Home could be a subtle hint at the rumors we’ve heard about Holland’s Spider-Man exploring the multiverse. There have been reports that baddies from previous Spider-Man films will duke it out with Holland. Alfred Molina will reportedly reprise his role as Doc Ock, while Jamie Foxx is rumored to be returning as Electro.
Meanwhile, Toby MacGuire and Andrew Garfield will also allegedly appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home, although recent comments from Holland have thrown cold water on that rumor. Given Holland’s track record with keeping secrets, however, we’re not so sure we can trust what he says.
