Read the Full Story[Asa] Butterfield, who was rumored as one of Marvel and Sony’s favorite candidates for Peter Pater and his web-swinging alter-ego, is now apparently out of the picture. As The Wrap’s Jeff Sneider reported on the latest episode of Meet The Movie Press Live, he’s heard only three actors remain in the race. According to Sneider, the three actors still in the running are Tom Holland, Charlie Plummer, and Matthew Lintz.
But it seems that the house is divided on who should get the tights. According to Sneider, Marvel is favoring Plummer while Sony wants Holland. Sony reportedly wants Holland so badly, that they’ve pushed him ahead as the new frontrunner.
