Sony Pictures is bullish enough on its upcoming Spider-Man Homecoming star Tom Holland that the studio is doubling down on the young actor by building a second major franchise around him. Holland is attaching to star in Uncharted, in what will be redrafted as a prequel to the treasure hunting action story line in the Naughty Dog video game for PlayStation. Shawn Levy is directing a film that will take its inspiration from a sequence in the third iteration of the video game that focused on the young thief Drake, and his first encounter with the professional rogue, Sullivan.

I read it. The role itself being reimagined as a younger version is a strange choice in and of itself. I feel like it really limits what they’re going to do with it. The last thing a video game turned movie needs is limitations.

Yeah exactly what I mean. I think we all know this film probably won’t do well at the box office, or at least not well enough to warrant multiple sequels. So it’s ridiculous that we won’t get to see Drake in his “prime.”

Kind of a disgusting cash grab idea, they’re throwing away their solid bid for a NORMAL UNCHARTED MOVIE but because he’s Spider-Man they’re creating something that isn’t even Uncharted anymore to work with this kid. Awful.
Does anybody see this working as inspired by the movie The Professional?

WHO THE HELL WANTS TO SEE THIS KID?!..i mean, no offense, but i hardly want to see this guy as spiderman, i sure as hell don’t want to see him as one of the greatest characters of all time. this can’t be happening. they must not want anyone to see this movie then. -_-

Is it just me or does Tom Holland remind anyone else of Michael J. Fox? Just kind of his (American accent) voice, mannerisms, and face all seem just a bit like Michael J. Fox.
