Writer and executive producer Jon Favreau has shared new details on his Star Wars series for the Disney streaming service. The series will be titled The Mandalorian, though it will not focus on either of the two most famous Mandalorians in Star Wars lore.
“After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe,” Favreau wrote in an Instagram post. “The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.”
This matches up with rumors previously reported by Making Star Wars. Fans have been clamoring for more Mandalorian adventures for a long time, so this is really exciting news. The series is in production and is expected to debut on the forthcoming Disney streaming service next year.
