I thought it was absolutely terrible. Nothing but a bunch of fake forced maudlin drama. It felt like a total waste of an episode. There was no reason to do all that “need friends/don’t need friends” stuff. Arrow DID need to do that. Arrow NEEDED to have a refresh to set up a new status quo. Flash didn’t. It just felt like a total waste of time and S2 really starts next week.
And then the idiocy with the dad leaving? That made zero sense. Why wouldn’t Barry argue that? “I’ve spent my whole life trying to get you out and you’re going to leave after one hour??” It would’ve made more sense to do a storyline where Barry starts neglecting his duties or whatever and his dad realizes it’s him causing it and leaves after a episode or two.
And the FX of Atom Smasher was hideous. How did they so easily make a giant talking gorilla but Atom Smasher looked like something from The Phantom Menace?
Agreed. Red cry kid shit show like crying Craparrow.

It really was awful, it felt like one of those old Smallville episodes where episode one of a new season just completely wrapped up the season finale cliff hanger in less than 5 minutes, making you wonder why you stuck with the show for those 20 something episodes.
