Syfy has found the lead for Superman-origins pilot, “Krypton,” Variety has learned.
British newcomer Cameron Cuffe has been cast in the starring role of Seg-El. Destined to be the ancestor of Jor-El, the future father of Superman, and Kal-El, the future Superman,, Seg-El is the scion of the once prosperous El family and is blessed with an intuitive brilliance for all things technical. He is now living in Krypton’s lowest caste after his family was stripped of its rank.

Not really that interested to see more of Krypton than what I have seen in a plethora of Superman books, shows, and movies. Considering we are dealing with an ancestor of Superman and not really generationally close, it’s straying away from the Superhero narrative to something akin to social commentary.
I’ll be honest… if Syfy was thinking of doing this, they should just go full alien and do Martian Manhunter’s backstory rather than this unfortunate future cancellation. It would be weird but hey it’s Syfy (You have NOTHING TO LOSE).

I’m in. But I just think Goyer went a little too far back in time. A bit too far removed from the last son of Krypton. Focusing on Zod, Superman’s parents, and Supergirl’s parents, all in like their early twenties, would’ve been the safer and easier show to market and promote. Those are the characters that could use fleshing out. Their grandparents, not so much. LOL
