A few years ago, Taika Waitit signed on to direct Thor: Ragnarok because, as he put it, he saw “a friend in need.” That friend was Chris Hemsworth who was looking for a way to reinvigorate the Thor franchise. Waititi recently met with another friend in need, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, perhaps to discuss the director’s next project with the studio.

I actually wonder if he’s actually a real fanboy or just pretending to be a fanboy and basically trolling us all because he seems to hate anything Marvel, anything whats funny and anything DC not made by Snyder.

I bet he does Guardians 3, he’s the most logical choice and could keep Gunn’s style while injecting his own into it as well. Also that means Korg could become a member and that’s a good thing because Korg was the best thing about Ragnarok.

Probably Guardians 3… Not sure how I feel about it. Thor 3 was pretty mediocre imo. Thor was way too much of a childish jokester in that film. Remember, this is the guy the Mjolnir deems “worthy” enough to wield it. If you watch the Thor and Hulk dialogue scenes, they are deliberately written to act childish. And THAT guy is worthy? Also, Taiki can’t stop himself from turning everything into a joke. It’s a damn miracle they reshot Odin’s death because the original version had him be a homeless idiot (I’m pretty sure Feige made him reshoot it anyway). I much preferred the Thor we saw in Infinity War, a healthy mix of the serious Thor from the previous films and the more charismatic one from Ragnarok.
I guess Guardians is a better fit, but still… Maybe they should go the opposite direction and get someone with a completely different style. -
It definitely will NOT be GotG3. All my money will be on an unknown director who will be hand held throughout the film making. D-ney has the full script and they also have their formula. At this point a person off the street could direct this film.
