The first season of The Gifted revealed the X-Men put Thunderbird in charge of the underground resistance movement that found, saved and relocated mutants before they could be arrested and locked up. Beyond that, we don’t know much about his origins other than that he’s former military. According to Jamie Chung, who plays Thunderbird’s girlfriend Blink, we’ll be getting a few more clues about the character’s backstory early on in Season 2, which will find families and lovers torn apart by the conflict between two mutant factions.
